Print sudoku 6 per page with this free tool: six classic 9×9 puzzles fit on each sheet. This page makes free printable sudoku puzzles, six to a sheet, ready to print or save as a PDF. It is the classic 9×9 sudoku, and every puzzle has exactly one solution, checked by the built-in solver before it is shown.
Everything runs in your web browser. There is no sign-up and nothing to install, and nothing is uploaded, because the puzzles are made on your device. The page opens on the Print tab with Puzzles per page set to 6. You can switch to 4 per page if you want larger grids. A Play tab also lets you solve one of the same puzzles on screen.

How to use the sudoku print sheet
- Open the Print tab. Puzzles per page is already set to 6. Change it to 4 if you want bigger grids.
- Open the Difficulty menu and choose Easy, Medium, Hard, or Mixed. Easy is the default.
- Set Number of pages from 1 to 20.
- Choose your paper size, US Letter or A4.
- Tick or untick Add answer pages at the end, depending on whether you want answers.
- Tick or untick Show title and difficulty above each puzzle.
- Check the preview of page 1 and its answer page. The line under the settings shows how many puzzles and pages you will get.
- Click Print / Save as PDF. This opens your browser’s print dialog.
- To save a file, choose Save as PDF as the destination. Turn off headers and footers for a clean sheet, then save.
To print the same set again later, copy the seed from “Repeat or share this set” and enter it next time. At 6 per page the grids are about 70 mm wide on Letter, so choose 4 per page for larger digits.
While you wait, the progress counter shows each puzzle being made, for example “Making puzzle 3 / 12…”. Press Cancel to stop. Puzzles are made when you print, so a large job takes a little longer than a small one.
What are the rules of sudoku?
Sudoku is played on a 9×9 grid split into nine 3×3 boxes. Some cells start with numbers, called clues. Your job is to fill every empty cell with a digit from 1 to 9. Each row, each column, and each 3×3 box must contain every digit exactly once. A good puzzle has only one way to finish, which is why the site checks each one for a single solution.
What makes a sudoku easy, medium, or hard?
Difficulty depends on which solving techniques a puzzle needs, not on how many clues it has. Easy puzzles can be solved with naked and hidden singles only. A naked single is a cell that has just one possible digit left. A hidden single is a digit that can go in only one cell within a row, column, or box. Medium puzzles need locked candidates (pointing or claiming) or naked and hidden pairs. Hard puzzles need triples, X-Wing, Y-Wing, Swordfish, or XYZ-Wing.
Clue counts give a rough guide. In samples of 20 puzzles from the site’s generator, Easy 9×9 puzzles had 37 to 39 clues, Medium had 24 to 30, and Hard had 25 to 32. The Medium and Hard ranges overlap, so a count alone does not tell you how hard a puzzle is.
How many sudoku fit on one page?
At 6 per page, the puzzles sit in two columns and three rows. Each grid is about 70 mm wide on US Letter and about 76 mm wide on A4. At 4 per page, they sit in two columns and two rows, at about 92 mm on Letter and 89 mm on A4. These are the largest grids that fit with the layout around them.
Are 6 sudoku per page big enough to read?
For most readers, yes. The printed digits are about 14 pt on Letter and 15 pt on A4 at 6 per page. At 4 per page they are about 19 pt on Letter and 18 pt on A4. If you need larger numbers, choose 1 or 2 puzzles per page on the main print page, or use the large print version on the sudoku for seniors page.
