Sudoku Variants
These pages hold sudoku with extra rules or shapes. Diagonal and hyper sudoku add regions, jigsaw uses irregular regions, killer sudoku uses cage totals, and Samurai joins five overlapping grids.
How to choose: if you already enjoy standard sudoku, start with diagonal or hyper sudoku, which keep the 9x9 grid and add extra regions to satisfy. Jigsaw sudoku replaces the square boxes with irregular shapes, so the usual box scanning no longer works. Killer sudoku removes most printed digits and relies on cage totals, so it suits people who like arithmetic with their logic. Samurai links five grids and takes the longest to finish. Each variant page lets you play on screen with hints or print a set with answers.
